We hire Park Operators for six BC Provincial Parks including; Moberly Lake, Gwillim Lake, Swan Lake, Charlie Lake, Beatton and Kiskatinaw!  If you enjoy working outdoors, meeting new people, working with a team and having accommodations provided, then this job may be for you! Duties Include

  • Opening and closing of main gate at 7am and 11pm.
  • Clean and maintain park facilities according to BC Park standards
  • Involvement in recycling program
  • Repair/Paint structures and facilities when required
  • Collection of park fees
  • Provide site security and enforcement of park policies
  • Respond to campers inquiries and provide assistance when required
  • Represent BC Parks in a professional manner
  • Maintain communication with other staff members
  • Report incidences and occurrences efficiently to lead hand (if available), supervisor and/or manager
  • Record and report traffic counter results and park stats
  • Participate is BC Parks customer satisfaction surveys when required
  • Equipment inspections and maintenance
  • Participation in interpretive service plus events (Park’s Day, Swan Lake 100 Year Anniversary, etc.)
  • Water sampling
  • Daily completion of log book, reservations and cashouts

Compensation

  • $132/day
  • Accommodations provided

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to handle repetitive motions
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Physically fit & willing/able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Available to work flexible work hours and live on-site (accommodations provided).
  • Experience with power tools for park maintenance.
  • Experience with handling cash & record keeping
  • Experience with landscaping
  • Superior customer service delivery
  • Valid driver’s license with clean drivers abstract
  • Clean criminal record
